Link Exchange was and is always a major part of any link building campaign. Almost every site has a pages labeled as Links or Resources. These Pages contain links to other sites and in return other sites place a link of website eon their pages. Some times ago Google gives importance to how many links pointing to a site from different websites. But now It gives importance to from which site links are coming.
Always Do Link Exchange with related sites. For example your site topic is related to Health, do link exchange with only health related sites. You don’t need to look for sites that exactly match your site theme means if your site selling herbal supplement, its not necessary that you do link exchange with only sites that are selling herbal supplements instead do the Link Exchange with sites that are closely related to your site topic such that a herbal supplement site can do link exchange with a site giving info about Health and Fitness

Don’t use same title for every Link Exchange.
Don’t use a title more than three times.
Tweak your description also for every link if possible. Its a bit hard to provide a new description for every listing so you should at least use 4 descriptions randomly.
Don’t do link exchange with sites that are a single product page. Means they just offer a single product and nothing more.
Now the question is How can you find related sites for link exchange. Here are some queries you can use to find websites that are closely related to your site and offering Link Exchange. Determine Your keyword first and then use it with these queries.
“Submit a link” + “your keyword”
“Submit a site” + “your keyword(s)”
“Submit URL” + “your keyword(s)”
“Submit an URL” + “your keyword(s)”
“Add a link” + “your keyword”
“Add a site” + “your keyword”
“Add URL” + “your keyword”
“Add an URL” + “your keyword”
“Suggest a link” + “your keyword ”
“Suggest a site” + “your keywords”
“Suggest URL” + “your keyword(s)”
“Suggest an URL” + “your keyword”
“Your Region” + “Add url” + directory
“your keywords” + “directory”
“your keywords” + “directories”
“your industry” +add url, directories,
“related sites” + your keyword + directory
“related urls” + your keyword + directory
keyword reciprocal + directory
keyword exchange + directory
keyword add site + directory
keyword resources + directory
keyword links + directory

Google’s founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, formulated a Search Engine algorithm that shifted the ranking weight to off-page factors. They developed a formula called PageRank, in which the algorithm counts the number of sites that link to a page and then assigns the page an importance score on a scale of 1-10. The higher the number and importance of sites that link to your page, the higher the PageRank of your Web site.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the strategy of using techniques to try to improve the rank a website has among search engine listings. Longtime marketers know that techniques of SEO must adapt to structures of the popular search engines.

There are many methods of SEO that can be used effectively to make money online. Although most SEO (search engine optimization information) strategy can be done online, some is done offline, like adding URLs to direct mail pieces to drive traffic to sites. Mailing postcards to prospects to advertise an online opportunity, via website URL, can be a very effective marketing effort, as it combines traditional marketing by mail to more advanced internet marketing.

Likewise, distributing flyers can be very effective, particularly in urban areas. These are offline methods of traffic-generating which can create traffic, which is one element the search engines are eyeing.

The search engines keep track of a lot of other elements related to your website which tell them, “This is a site of interest and significance”, resulting in a higher ranking for the site in the search results they return to online information seekers.

SEO(search engine optimization information) methods can certainly cover a wide range of website components; including but not limited to domain name, title / heading / HTML tags, file names and directories, frequency of quality terms used, keyword info, image ALT tags, text without frames, photo captions, targeted quality content, regular updating of content, back-links, and overall website popularity.

And SEO (search engine optimization information) strategies that involve manipulation of these various SEO components can be broken down into two main categories - “white hat” or “black hat.” White hat SEO methods are generally those that are approved by search engines, like adding good content and other quality to your site. Black hat SEO methods are referred to as tricks, like using cloaking devices. Some people say all SEO is manipulative. Others say only black hat is.

Some companies offer SEO services. For practically any budget range, you can buy:

- PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns where you try to draw online traffic to your site by bidding on words relating to your niche that you think people will use in search engines to find you.

- Site Submission – There are plenty of companies out there that will allow you to enter your URL into their form and then they will submit it to a group of top search engines for you at no charge, like Submit Express at: http://www.submitexpress.com/list.html . You can also pay them to submit it to many more. Submitting in this manner is generally recommended once a month. You can also purchase products like: WebPosition Gold, a search engine software all-in-one package that optimizes your web pages, submits them to top search engines, then tracks the page rankings and web site visits and visitors.

Article Marketing – Online marketers write articles that focus on keywords or key content that would attract search engines to them when people search for their key content.

Links – Not only through article links but other links as well (whether link exchanges or purchased in-bound links), webmasters try to increase their search engine rank by establishing quality linking with top sites or high-traffic sites out there.

Posting to Opportunity Seeker Message Boards – This is just another method of creating back-links to the website. An e-mail signature with a compelling line of advertising can redirect readers, who have already shown to have an interest in the opportunity market, back to the selling website—more back-links.

Online Directories and Classified Ad Sites – These are more fine sources of potential back-links to the website. Search engine spiders regularly determine popularity of sites via back-links, and rate them higher accordingly, which creates even more traffic flow.

Link Exchange – This is a slower way to create back-links, but it can be effective if done regularly. Usually, this type of arrangement must be set up webmaster-to-webmaster per mutual agreement, but there are automated tools such as LinkMachine which greatly speed up this process.

So add some SEO into your Internet marketing. SEO, when done successfully, can bring waves of traffic that you never expected, and that translates into sales success. Even at little or no cost, there are plenty of things you can do to keep the search engines happy, helping to bring internet visitors to your websites

Article submission is the process of taking an article relevant to your company or the products or services you deliver and uploading it to article directories. Article directories are websites that collect articles on many different topics. Article directories are a wonderful way to get traffic and backlinks to your website. There are many well established article directories that have been proven to get websites traffic.

The benefit of distributing articles in the directories to promote your website is, the more people who read your article the more clicks you get back to your website. This means more traffic to your site. Alexa ranks sites based upon incoming traffic, (you get the picture), and how this will benefit your site. As you can see, article marketing is one of your best marketing tools. You don’t have to be a major in English or even know how to write a novel. You can write a short article of around 400 words about something that you are passionate about.

The best way to design your hierarchy is to think of it as a family tree. The following is an example of basic web site hierarchy. A web page is considered a Parent page if it has pages under it in the hierarchy. These “sub-pages” are the Child pages.

In addition to their position within the hierarchy, you must also decide what type of content each page will contain. In the example above, you can see that each of the pages has a type associated with it. Page type is important as it defines the structural elements that will be available for that page when creating its content

Optimizing your images is the best way to improve the download speed of your Web pages. A good rule of thumb is to strive for no one image being larger than 10 Kb. This is especially hard with animations, but if you can do it, you’ll have some great fast images.

After you optimize your images, you should call them in your HTML with the height and width specified in the image tag. This will allow the browser to continue rendering the Web page while the image downloads in the background.

Compress .jpg and .gif images: If you use photoshop, always use the “Save for Web” feature. If you don’t have access to PhotoShop, there’s a ton of free image compressing freeware out there.

Compress or eliminate unnecessary Flash elements: In my opinion, flash is over-rated and slow. It has it’s benefits, but make sure you don’t rely on it for navigation or other necessary site elements.

Don’t Resize Images within HTML: Don’t use the width or height attribute in the IMG tag to resize larger options. For example, if you resize an image that was originally 300 x 300 to 100 x 100, the user still has to download the full size one. Instead, use thumbnails.

Specify Image Dimensions: Don’t leave the width or height attributes blank. By doing so, you’ll slow down the browser rendering of the page, since it doesn’t know how much space to give for each image.

Slice Your Images: Slicing doesn’t actually reduce image size (in fact, it increases the overall size). However, it does increase the apparent load time by making each slice appear one at a time rather than one big image popping up after it downloads.

Avoid Too Many Slices: Don’t use too much of a good thing. As mentioned above, each slice actually increases the total size. I would recommend using no more than 4 slices, unless you are dealing with a huge image.
